Listening to this E.P. for the first time, I could be anywhere in the world…Ronnie Scott’s in London, Birdland in New York or Preservation Hall in New Orleans. None of the artists here need any introduction and all of the musicians in each of the bands gel together and excel in their art.

This brief glimpse down into the basement brings all the ingredients together you rarely hear anywhere else… the sometimes haunting, sometimes uplifting flute, the the wonderful sound of the saxophone’s rhythmic solos and honking ad-libs, the funky guitar and Hammond organ riffs, the slick drumming….

All the tracks are different but they all get “down and dirty” and the success of this EP would not be possible without the musicians, writers and producers. Well done to Neil Anderson (Original Gravity Records) once again for pulling it all together!

The greatest compliment you can give this EP is your attention… the rest is up to you! Get Down In The Basement and immerse yourself in the vibes and funky rhythms....
