My Dad, Alf Martin, spent over 20 years working in the music press in the UK between the 60s and 80s. It took us many years of pestering him to write all his stories down and 'do a book' (instead of telling us half a story of the same three events, often too pis*ed to remember which story he'd even started telling)

The book was mostly intended for us, to finally find out the details of those stories as best as he could remember.... All in all it took years of pestering, and then a period of 7 years writing and researching his events and dates to finally get everything he could down on paper.

There's thankfully loads more than three stories. Having worked on some of the biggest selling pop music magazines of the day, he was there when it happened, helping to compile them from the ground up, from humble post boy at 16 years old (Melody Maker), working his way on to features in his 20s (Sounds), then Editor of a weekly teen magazine in his 30s (Record Mirror.)

"American Quarto" sized (229 x279mm) over 150 full colour pages, over 350 photos and just over 100 stories.
